How long does it take a shop to change a car's brakes?
I own a medium to large repair shop.

Generally speaking it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to do front or rear brakes.

or 2 hours for both front and rear.

But as a Repair shop owner, and knowing that there is always something that will come up that runs way longer than it should, you should also allow extra time for the shop not getting you car in on time. Just incase.

It's not a question how long it take to change car's brakes. It is a question how busy the shop is. And how early you get the vehicle in line to be worked on. Second it a matter what has to be done. Such as turning the rotors or the drums. Then it is a question it they will be safe to turn or replace. They may need to order parts. Even turning the rotors and drums. It should be done within two hours. You should get to the shop before they open. Try to be the first custom of the day. The can give you a better ideal. Cause they may have work from the day before.
Unless your car is special..... Most of the work could be done within the same day.....with other factors like mentioned in the previous answer.

Normal brake service in my shop is about 2 hours. Same day at worst.
