My brakes on my car give off a high pitch screech when I stop. How should i go about to fixing this?

So I noticed that sometimes when i brake, i hear a pretty loud screeching noise. im pretty sure that this shouldn't be heard.

so, i was wondering how could i fix this?

i have no knowledge of cars other than driving it and changing the oil and spark plugs.

is this a selffix kind of thing or do i have to bring it in?

Brakes have built in warning system which starts to rub and give you the screeching noise to alert you your brake pads are worn. Get your brakes done, if you leave it metal parts will start to rub, you will end up with no brakes and a much higher repair bill.

that noise means its time for brake pads there called squealers and there for saftey so change your pads als there is a compound called disc brake anti squeal they should on the pads when they install them hope this helps
when dealing with brakes leave it to the professionals.especially if your not sure what your doing
Dump it in a ravine and buy a new one.
new brake should do the trick lol...no seriously all you need is new brakes
get new brakes
