My car needs brakes and rotters (sp?) can i have my brakes done now and rotters done later (money is tight)? or do they have to b done together?|||you can, but the rotors will wear the brakes down faster esp if they are really bad- If its due to cost that you are waiting you can have the rotors resurfaced unless they are too thin|||Rotors not needed unless the pads were worn down from metal to metal contact or they are warped, (steering wheel wobble) or have hot spots, (feels like the brakes are catching/jerking when appling the brakes)?
If there was no metal to metal contact then new pads can be installed and they will seat in fine.
If there was metal to metal then the new pads will be ruined.
