Headlights+brakes stall car?

ok i just got done changing the spark plugs and doing the timing on my car (74 valiant) and it runs really good now and shakes alot less only problem is not knowing what my rpm is when i did the timing so i hope i did it right. stepping on the brakes makes the head lights dim for a split second but its always done this i know it cant be good. having the head lights on at a idle in drive holding the brakes will stall the car 10 secs later to me sounds like a bad ground i cleaned the 2 main grounds and it did nothing. maybe my idle is too low but putting it any higher will make the car sound like its racing. im lost i have a new alt and regulator and it didnt change anything.

just do a vacuum test on the car. it should be between 18-22 inches of vacuum if its low set the vacuum to 18 or 19 inches the your timing will be right. but i dont think timing is your problem. somthing might not be wired correctly check all your wiring
