Theoretically, can a car last a million miles with no major hardware replacements?

Aside from Oil/Filter, Fluid, Brake Pad/Tire changes; can a car go a million miles with no other mechanical replacements?

A car has a lot of reciprocating parts. These major parts, engine, Transmission, wheel bearings and rear end, even though lubricated, constantly wear as they turn. This in turn leads to metal fatigue and failure of the parts. Even with the best of care, none of these will survive a million miles of wear. A lot of the cars you hear of that are still running with 200K to 400K miles have had one or more major components rebuilt or replaced. As to the Honda with a million miles and all 'original' parts I seriously doubt it. The designation, in the industry, of 'All original parts' merely means that they used the manufacturers parts when they repaired it. It doesn't necessarily mean it has the parts it left the factory with.

No. It would never last that long. Your watching too much married with children
NO.........................

I HAVE SEEN THEM GO UP TO 600,000 MILES BUT THE WEAR AND TEAR IS TO MUCH EVEN WITH ALL OF THE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THEM.
A car is a machine, anything can happen at anytime-that's why we have warranty cover for some period. It is not impossible, but all parts can age, some can age before 1million miles.

Repair shops will also have to close up if all cars hit 1m miles without any problem.

Think about it.
yes it can if you drive very carefully
I believe it was done by someone in either Texas or California. If i remember correctly it was an early sixties dodge valiant with a slant six. Allmost all the original parts were on it except for the normal items that wear out. And I think the Chrysler reps documented it. The owner was a travelling salesman.
Not impossible, just not likely. I did however find a Honda Civic on Craig's List that had over a million miles and still ran just fine with all original parts.
