What kind of maintenance should I perform on my car at 60,000 miles?

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer (2.0 L, 4 cylinder). I am a little over 60,000 miles and I was wondering what kind of maintenance I should perform on my car. I got the brakes changed a little while ago. I plan on getting new tires and changing the air filter. The car has had no perfomance issues to speak of as of yet. Are there any other recommended things to fix or check? Thanks

1. Check your Owner's manual for specific checks.

Like the big list says, make sure the timing (serpentine) belt is changed.

However, do not change the fuel filter unless the book calls for it . Fuel systems are closed and should not be opened unless the fuel is contaminated.

Other than that, you've got a good handle on the situation. .If the tires still have legal tread on them, leave them on. .Minor weather cracks are OK as long as they don't go to the chord. .Only replace one-for-one.

Well done.

The most important thing is the timing belt. After that here is the list of things to do:

Regular 60K mile maintenance schedule.

* New Spark plugs,

* New Spark plug wires %26amp; coils (all-in-one on Audi),

* New Air filters,

New Fuel filters,

Clean or replace Fuel injectors,

Test fuel pressure,

** Replace timing belt,

* Change engine oil,

** Change transmission oil,

* Change differential lubricant,

Change brake fluids,

Check battery connectors,

Check (test) charging system,

Replace O2 sensor,

* Change coolants,

Replace belts,

Check large hoses (coolant, etc),

Check small hoses (vacuum, etc.),

Check tires wear / pressure,

Check suspension parts (ball joints, etc.)

Lubricate hinges (doors, hood, trunk, etc.)

Replace interior cab air filter

You don't have to do ALL of them. But the timing belt is a MUST. The items with 2 stars (**) are must do items. The items with with one star are %26quot;really should%26quot; items. The rest are optional.

Good Luck...
I would change the fuel filter and possibly think about getting the transmission fluid changed. and check the coolant in the radiator other than that should be good to go
Regularly change oil with oil filter every 4000, air filter every 6000, fuel filter every 12000. Check front brakes %26amp; rear discs for any wear every 12000. The important thing at 60000 is change timing belt, alternator and fan belt. If you are through with these things the car will never let you down. Wish you HAPPY DRIVING.
just the ordinary stuff, like change the oil and filter, spark plugs and wires, grease job,check all hoses and belts, clean out the throttle body, change the gas filter and check the air filter, check the pcv valve, if it rattles, its good, stuff like that.
