Why are the brakes on my car making noises?

I had my wheel bearings and front axle changed on my 1999 Hyundai elantra. Now the front right wheel of my car is making a weird noise when i apply the brakes. It sounds like your rubbing two plates together. It is only for the first couple of minutes driving then it goes away. But if i let my car sit for a while and start driving again it will start making that noise again. Btw the faster i go the faster the noise gets but it gets really loud when i slow down.

You should go get your vehicle checked out.

your metal peices of the brake are rubbing against eachother.

you really need to go get it fixed before you get in an accident.
Why are the brakes on my car making noises?
Its definitely either:

1.The brake pads were fixed too tight during your last change of parts

2. The wheel bearings are touching part of the disk plate or the rim, which means your last repair was not done well

3. When the tyres were removed, probably the hand brakes were fitted too close together

4. Or likely to be lack of oil in the joints of the axle.

I dont think the problem is very serious, and it wont affect your daily running much, but it is best to find out why as it may cause your parts in the area near the tyre involved with this sound to wear off too soon, and still may affect the performance of the tyres and the brakes.

Best is to take your wheels back to the place where you got your wheel bearings and axle changed, and ask a mechanic to look into it. But until that it wont be a very serious problem, bu better hurry up.
Did you have this done at a reputable shop?

Did they use NEW parts or USED parts?

It sounds like you either have a caliper locking up or your brake pads are in need of replacement. It could be that whoever did the work did not put the brake pads back on correctly.

If it were anything else I'd tell you to diagnose it yourself but this is the most important component on your vehicle (the one that allows you to avoid crashing into other things). You need to get this to a shop IMMEDIATELY. When you have metal on metal...eventually one or both will wear out. If you wait then you continue to cause more and more damage and it keeps getting more and more expensive as time goes by.

My last question is...how long do you let the car sit before it starts making the noise again? If the shop who did the work used a cheap semi-metallic pad and a cruddy rotor then what you're hearing is the flash-rust that develops on the rotor and pads from the moisture in the air while sitting overnight being ground off by the friction of the pads hitting the rotor.
Could be a bad bearing install. Sometimes bearings are not fulling seated. As well the axle nut plays a huge part in how long it will last. If it's not tight enough or comes loose real problems will happen quick. If it's grinding... jack up the car on that side pull top and bottom then left to right on the wheel. If it's loose have the bearing replaced again. Don't drive it until it's fixed if the wheel move like crazy.

If the brakes are a problem then you likely have the pads or clips in wrong. As long as the pads are still good. Yet that's only the quick answer of things to look at.
you might need your brakes changed

think of it like a bike the brakes could be shifted or it may be worn down on the bike when the wheel turns the brakes move against the rim and when you go faster it gets loud and when you slow down it would be loud and sound would be longer

i don't know much about cars but i hope this helps
thats the sound of your calipers getting destroyed because your pads are worn to the bone...so u have metal against metal, once the pad is gone, its just metal left against the wheel disc which is metal
Souns like the rotors need replaced, if not then the brake pads.
bring it into midas or some well trusted car place
my moms car is doing the same thing to
